Hex values are indicative. Screen rendering and batch tinting both shift, so confirm against a physical chip before ordering.
A greige that keeps its neutrality next to wood. Linen Fold is 74 LRV with a slight green-grey lean, which is what stops it reading as pink or yellow when it sits against oak, walnut or a warm floor.

The greige problem
Most warm off-whites fail in one of two directions when a wood floor is in the room. A yellow-biased off-white goes more yellow against oak, and the wall and floor fuse into one flat field. A red-biased off-white goes pink next to a mid-brown timber, which is far more noticeable than a colour being slightly too warm.
Linen Fold corrects both by adding a small green-grey component. Green is the complement of the red that oak reflects, so the wall neutralises the floor's cast instead of amplifying it. This is the same mechanism designers use when they specify a grey-green trim against a warm wall.
Where it works
- Kitchens with wood worktops — the wall stays neutral rather than going cream.
- Living rooms with a warm-toned wood floor, where a pure white would reflect the floor as a yellow band at skirting height.
- Bedrooms where the wall needs to sit quietly behind fabric in oatmeal or linen tones.
Where it does not
Rooms that are already cool. Against a north-facing grey light on a vinyl floor, a greige with a green lean can read as slightly dirty, and it will look worse after dark under a cool-white bulb. Check the bulb colour temperature before committing: 2700 K is fine, 4000 K is not.
Pairing
| Partner | Effect |
|---|---|
| Ochre Field #D9A44A | High-contrast accent; 32-point split, deliberate |
| Warm Plaster #D9CBB6 | Tonal, restful, for a wall and ceiling in one scheme |
| Roller Grey #5A5F66 | Trim or a single joinery unit; 63-point split, crisp |
Sheen notes
At LRV 74, sheen matters less than on a dark colour, but the same rule applies: matte in low-traffic rooms, eggshell anywhere hands land. In a kitchen, satin on the wall behind the hob is the right call for cleanability, and the 2-3 unit gloss bump against an eggshell ceiling is not visible at that height.
Coverage: two coats over any wall at LRV 45 or above. Over a saturated colour such as Ochre Field, use a tinted primer tinted to roughly half strength rather than a white one.
What matters here
- A greige with a green-grey lean that neutralises oak's red cast.
- 74 LRV: enough body to sit against a mid-tone floor without going chalky.
- Avoid it in cool-light rooms on vinyl floors — it can read dirty.
- Over a saturated colour, tint the primer to half strength first.
